About the Role
As an Insurance Tax Director on the Specialty Services team, you will provide strategic tax leadership to insurance clients while overseeing complex compliance, provision, and advisory engagements. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys serving as a trusted advisor, developing high-performing teams, driving client relationships, and contributing to the growth and success of a national accounting and advisory firm.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee complex tax engagements, ensuring high-quality client service and technical excellence
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on tax planning, compliance, and consulting matters
- Review tax returns, tax provisions, and other key deliverables for accuracy and compliance
- Manage and strengthen client relationships while identifying opportunities for expanded services
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to Managers, Seniors, and Staff
- Oversee engagement budgets, staffing, timelines, and overall project execution
- Lead complex insurance tax and Outbound International Tax (OIT) matters, including cross-border planning and compliance
- Partner with firm leadership on practice growth, business development, and strategic initiatives
- Stay current on tax legislation and industry developments and communicate impacts to clients and internal teams

Required & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
- Active CPA license required
- 8+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience
- Strong technical expertise in corporate taxation, including federal and state compliance, tax planning, and consulting
- ASC 740 tax provision experience required; SSAP 101 experience preferred
- OIT (Outbound International Tax) experience preferred, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8991, and 8992
- Proven ability to lead client engagements, develop teams, and manage key client relationships
- Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to identify tax planning opportunities and contribute to practice growth
