Electrical Superintendent – Conventional Power
Project
Location:
TBD (requires mobilization to the site).
Project Planning: Overland Park, KS for 6 months.
Union
Experience:
Union or Union management experience strongly preferred.
Conventional Power
Experience:
Electrical superintendent experience strongly preferred.
Per Diem: $132.12/day non‑taxed while at Overland Park, $173/day taxed at project site.
- Partners with the Construction Manager in ensuring complete adherence by all site supervision and craft to safety, quality, ethical standards, lessons learned, and performance management programs per Division policies.
- Monitors, verifies, and reports on construction activities for compliance with the CPM schedule; tracks and reports on completion of project schedule activities and commodity installation.
- Partners with craft, subcontractors, and superintendents to resolve problems and report on issues related to drawings, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety.
- Monitors discipline construction productivity, progress, and cost, and reports to Construction Manager and Field Project Controls Manager.
- Ensures competent and practical adherence to standards and lessons learned and communicates issues and new lessons learned for future implementation.
- Conducts foreman/subcontractor meetings; reviews and assists in daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
- Develops and monitors a 3‑Week Look‑Ahead Schedule for assigned work scope.
- Develops corrective plans to ensure progress and productivity targets are met.
- Verifies that all material, manpower, and resources needed to support the 3‑Week Look‑Ahead Schedule are available on site.
- Develops, monitors, and reports on completion of craft/subcontractor punch list activities.
- Maintains a daily log for site records.
- Reviews craft/subcontractor timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
- Monitors supplier technical service representative logs and approves timesheets.
- Communicates and coordinates assigned craft/subcontractor daily and weekly work plans with other discipline superintendents and Construction Manager.
- Monitors subcontractors for compliance with scope and schedule requirements.
- Develops a stable working relationship with assigned subcontractors.
- Works with Field Subcontract Administrator on extra work authorizations (RFMPs/WAs).
- Works with Construction Engineer on compiling and answering Contractor Information Requests.
- Administers execution of work packages and equipment installation.
- Develops and distributes a Job Hazard Analysis for major erection packages.
- Identifies potential back charges and out‑of‑scope issues and reports to the Construction Manager.
- Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management to direct reports.
- 10 years minimum experience in Industrial Construction.
- Understanding of budgets.
- Experience in setting large electrical equipment.
- Proficient with PDC, GSU, UAT, ISO Phase, Terminations.
- Managed 50+ direct hire union craft.
- Ability to create and manage a large‑scale project schedule.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Budget and cost control skills.
- Industrial Relations knowledge for resolving labor issues.
- Knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues.
- Knowledge of company construction guides and manuals.
