Performing Arts Instructor (Band, Vocal Music or Orchestra) - Blue Valley Northwest High School

Under the supervision of a licensed professional, this position provides support to the instructional process by assisting in the instruction, rehearsals and/or performances of instrumental music students.

• Prepare students either as soloists or ensemble members for various performances
• Supervise sectional rehearsals and ensembles
• Prepare groups for participation in school performances, festivals, clinics, parades, etc.
• Apply knowledge of instrumental music techniques and performance practices to develop musicianship in a classroom setting
• Be familiar with instrumental music ensembles and different instruments and components
• Read and interpret music notation; effectively work with all students; maintain confidentiality

• Knowledge and experience in instrumental music techniques and performance practices
