Job Description & How to Apply Below

UMKC is seeking applications for a 12-month full-time faculty member in the Division of Dental Hygiene. The position is a 100% benefit eligible, full time, ranked non‑tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor. Qualified candidates should exhibit a commitment to clinical and didactic teaching, scholarship, as well as service to the profession and the community.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, classroom, laboratory, and clinical teaching in the clinical entry level program and service on School of Dentistry Committees.

The UMKC Division of Dental Hygiene prepares students to become competent, adaptable oral health professionals who actively contribute to improving the public’s oral health. As the only program in Missouri to award a baccalaureate degree in dental hygiene, and part of the state’s only public dental school, we offer a long‑standing, community‑focused education that equips graduates to plan, implement, and evaluate dental hygiene care for populations across the lifespan.

Our graduates are prepared for success in clinical practice, education, public health, hospital programs, and school‑based settings, and they join an alumni network that includes roughly half of all practicing dentists in Missouri. With strong regional impact, a commitment to serving states without their own dental schools, and a public clinic that provides care across the Kansas City metro, UMKC fosters meaningful partnerships that support improved oral health and quality of life for the communities we serve.
