Adjunct Assistant Professor, EMS

Johnson County Community College – Overland Park, Kansas.

Position Summary: The Adjunct Assistant Professor, EMS is responsible for facilitating class lectures, labs, and clinical instruction of adult college students and/or high school students for EMR and/or EMT (EMS
121, 128, 131, 133, and 140) initial courses of instruction.

Responsibilities (Job duties include but are not limited to):

  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management.
  • Scheduling, shift assignments, and work location may be changed as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of full‑time EMS transporting experience (or equivalent).
  • Kansas EMT certification.
  • Associate’s Degree. Candidate must attach PDF of unofficial transcripts when applying.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of full‑time EMS transporting experience (or equivalent).
  • Kansas AEMT, Paramedic, or RN licensure (PDF of current license required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (required for sections 133 and higher; attach PDF of unofficial transcripts).
  • Kansas EMS I/C certification.
  • BCLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PHTLS Instructor (attach PDF of current instructor cards).
  • Experience in EMS initial education.
  • Knowledge of instructional methods and teaching experience to deliver content, skills instruction, and remediation.
