Railroad Safety Instructor - Non-Credit Courses (NARS)
Position Summary: Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is seeking experienced railroad professionals to serve as instructors for non-credit courses offered through the National Academy of Railroad Sciences (NARS). Instructors will teach classroom and hands‑on training in areas such as Maintenance of Way Operating Rules (MWOR), Short‑line Engineer Training, Industrial Rail Operations Training (IROT), and related safety programs. This role is critical to ensuring participants meet industry standards for safe and efficient rail operations.
This position requires travel to client locations.

- At least five years of experience in the railroad industry in operations, safety, or maintenance.
- Knowledge of FRA regulations, AAR standards, and railroad operating rules.
- Strong communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to deliver both classroom and hands‑on training.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
