Culinary Camp Instructor
Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Culinary Camp Instructor to develop and lead a week‑by‑week curriculum for children in grades 3‑6.

Schedule25‑30 hours per week, June 8 - July 31, plus a week of orientation May 26‑29. Works primarily in morning hours M‑F (8:15am-1pm), campers in session 9‑12 daily. Includes additional prep, clean‑up and shopping.
DescriptionPrepare a comprehensive culinary curriculum using weekly themes, facilitate cooking projects, ensure safe food handling and Kosher compliance, and provide engaging learning experiences for youth.
Essential Functions- Supervise, plan, and implement the Culinary Camp program, including staff supervision and equipment cleanup.
- Determine and procure necessary food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring readiness for each session.
- Teach and model culinary skills, encouraging full participation from prep through clean‑up, and collaborating with Camp Counselors on fun activities.
- Lead the overall Schedule, coordinating morning preparations, skill sessions, cleanup, and package foods for children to take home.
- Proven culinary skills, including cooking and baking, and proven safe food handling training.
- Teaching experience in culinary arts is preferred.
- Experience working with children in culinary instruction is preferred.
- Ability to design and implement a program for 3rd‑6th grade youth.
- Ability to work under Vaad rules following Kosher guidelines (training provided).
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience is helpful.
- Capable of lifting 40 pounds.
- Comfortable working with children of diverse needs and abilities.
