Position SummaryJohnson County Community College (JCCC) seeks experienced railroad professionals to serve as instructors for non-credit courses offered through the National Academy of Railroad Sciences (NARS). Instructors will teach classroom and hands‑on training in areas such as Maintenance of Way Operating Rules (MWOR), Shortline Engineer Training, Industrial Rail Operations Training (IROT) and related safety programs. This role is critical to ensuring participants meet industry standards for safe and efficient rail operations and requires travel to client locations.
Responsibilities- Deliver classroom and hands‑on training in MWOR, Shortline Engineer Training, IROT, and related safety programs.
- Travel to client locations as required.
- At least five years experience in the railroad industry in operations safety or maintenance.
- Knowledge of FRA regulations, AAR standards, and railroad operating rules.
- Strong communication and instructional skills.
- Ability to deliver both classroom and hands‑on training.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
- Unofficial transcripts required for all adjunct faculty and faculty positions.
