Starting Salary Range: $32.50 per hour

Johnson County Community College is looking for Group Exercise Instructors to add specific classes to our current Student Wellness program:
Tai Chi, Pilates, Bootcamp, Hip Hop Fitness, and Step & Strength. JCCC is also looking for experienced certified Personal Trainers to motivate students & provide safe exercise prescription for small groups and individuals in the weight room and fitness center. Part‑time, exempt, $32.50 per hour.

Group Exercise Instructors will teach 30‑50 min classes 1‑2x per week for 4‑8 week blocks. Available class times between 1 pm‑6 pm Mon‑Thurs, 11 am‑3 pm Fridays. Please specify your availability and the classes you are qualified to teach.

Personal Trainers will lead small group training and/or provide exercise prescription during open weight room hours on Wed & Fri 11 am‑1 pm OR Tues & Thurs 6 pm‑8 pm for 4‑8 week blocks. Please specify your availability.

Note to Applicants: Please specify the specialty classes you are qualified to teach and state your current availability based on times given in each job description above.

• Experience teaching without supervision.
• Current group exercise, personal training, or specialty certification from an NCCA accredited organization.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to safely and easily perform the physical movements of the specialty taught, from beginner to advanced.

• Degree in Exercise Science or related field.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide a welcoming, supportive environment for all fitness levels.
• Develop safe, effective movement sequencing, progressions, regressions, and cueing.
• Responsible for accurate attendance records while ensuring classes start and end on time.
• Arrive promptly to set‑up class materials and return all equipment to proper locations.
• Respond calmly and effectively to safety and emergency situations that may occur while teaching a class.
• Bring appropriate music playlist that maintains professionalism and positivity without profanity.
• Other duties as assigned.
