Key Responsibilities- Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
- Supervise Structural Engineers (both in the US and in overseas offices) and work with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications; lead medium sized production teams and serve as the project charge.
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and reviewing contractor submittals.
- Perform project administrative tasks, including preparation of design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, managing project changes, and implementing Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements.
- Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers; understand client interests and drivers, and develop solutions to balance the interests of all stakeholders.
- Lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values of up to $100M.
- Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies; assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and provide guidance and direction to others.
- Implement resource management strategy, including managing resources for a small group.
- Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program.
- Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530.
- Proficiency with use of structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000.
- Proficiency with use of non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or country of practice, or equivalent engineering work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Work Environment / Physical DemandsBlack & Veatch offers flexible hybrid work options after the first 90 days of employment, based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. The position may be located in any U.S. office, with relocation eligibility. The job may involve travel to project sites and public office visits.
