As an entry‑level Electrical Engineer at Black & Veatch, you will help address some of the world's most pressing infrastructure challenges. You will work on a wide range of projects to meet our clients' needs and contribute to the growth and success of Black & Veatch.
Key Responsibilities- Familiarize yourself with departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black & Veatch policies and procedures.
- Understand and comply with the Black & Veatch quality program.
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Prepare less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection.
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Understand and adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Share information with others as requested and coordinate with others when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external clients' interests and drivers; may provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
- Coursework and knowledge of Power Systems, Motors, Transformers, Renewable Energy, Power Delivery, or Three‑Phase Power Calculations.
- Previous internship experience.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, design guides and standards.
- Insight into industry trends and developing technologies.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction practices and principles.
- Skilled in problem solving, written communication, informing, and peer relationships.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the United States or the country in which the professional is practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Work EnvironmentHybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
