The OpportunityUnder general supervision and applying knowledge gained with experience, you will begin functioning as a technical specialist. You will continue to build on experience and gain more in‑depth knowledge working on larger and more complex assignments, potentially expanding into other disciplines and functional areas.
The TeamAs part of BV Operations, your skills align with projects that support our three market sectors—Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. You will work on a range of projects from small community improvements to grand‑scale mega projects, supporting infrastructure growth and development while focusing on your own individual development.
Key Responsibilities- Execute structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities.
- Work within a team of Structural Engineers (both in the US and overseas) to execute projects.
- Supervise Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications.
- Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and reviewing contractor submittals.
- Perform project administrative tasks, including monitoring progress against budget and schedule, managing project changes, and implementing Black & Veatch quality control requirements.
- Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers.
- Understand and follow departmental standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts.
- Proficiency with non‑structural software packages such as Bluebeam, Project Wise, AutoCAD, and Revit.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in the applicant’s home country or the country where the professional is practicing, with a minimum of one year of related work experience.
Work Environment / Physical DemandsBlack & Veatch offers hybrid or flexible work options after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
