Job SummaryCDM Smith has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with experience managing water and wastewater projects to join our West Central group. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for planning and design of municipal drinking water, wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the greater Wichita area and surrounding region, and assist with business development activities.
Responsibilities- Manage and serve as the lead Project Manager on major municipal Water & Wastewater projects.
- Provide technical guidance, senior leadership, and mentoring engineering staff to enhance water services design capabilities.
- Responsible for scope, schedule, budget development, monitoring and management of projects.
- Complete Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables.
- Assist Client Service Leaders with technical marketing including proposals and meetings with clients.
- Participate in professional societies relevant to the industry.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with key decision makers in client organizations.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent directly related experience.
- 10 years of related experience.
- PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required as work demands.
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- Previous experience working on and managing design projects for municipal drinking water, wastewater, and/or pump stations in Kansas and surrounding region.
- Excellent communication, networking and team building skills.
- Previous business development experience including preparation of proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates, and presentations for municipal clients.
