Who You Are:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accounting Director to work from our Overland Park, KS office. This role will lead a team of direct reports to provide accounting analysis across a complex legal entity structure. Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, this highly visible role will partner across Facility Operations, Engineering and Asset Management teams.

What You Will Do:
  • Review monthly financial results, assess variances to forecast and provide reporting for various levels of internal management reporting needs.
  • Partner with department heads and operational leaders to provide financial guidance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Asset Management and other departments to assist with financial budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planningli>
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high‑performing team including mentoring and training staff members and identifying cross‑training opportunities.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead and nurture a work culture with a positive attitude that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for supporting management initiatives including process standardization and simplification, financial analysis and research, and reporting.
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in our Overland Park, KS office location. We are open to relocation for qualified candidates.
  • CPA, MBA, or a graduate degree in a finance-related field preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Financials or other large ERP systems preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated experience presenting to company executives.
  • Strategic thinking capabilities and deep understanding of GAAP and financial processes.
  • Professional agility to adapt to changing priorities and environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems and ERP tools.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across departments with competing priorities.
