Job DescriptionThe collections specialist is responsible for claims submission follow‑up to ensure correct and timely payment, achieving the goal of low delinquent payer balances for all therapy types. The role manages collections and reimbursement for payors, monitors activity, and implements corrective actions for deficiencies, denials, and unpaid balances. It ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements while resolving customer inquiries professionally and efficiently.
Qualifications- GED or high school diploma required
- Minimum of three (3) years of working experience in collection related activities
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating satisfaction
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in collection related activities
- Previous home infusion therapy billing experience
- Follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely payment.
- Work with insurance companies to resolve denials or short payments.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Understand correct vs incorrect billing and payer contracts.
- Know the different types of home infusion medications and therapies.
- Manage insurance verification and reimbursement processes.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies, providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on billing regulations, coding guidelines, and payer requirements to ensure compliance.
- Familiarity with clearinghouses and billing functionality.
- Assist with data entry, administrative, and clerical tasks.
- Stay abreast of payer alerts and reimbursement changes.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Navigate and interpret insurance contracts.
- Communicate, inspire, and motivate staff at all levels.
- Think and act strategically and proactively.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Organize and coordinate work of others.

- Proficient in all programs necessary for effective execution of job responsibilities.

- Participate in legal and ethical compliance training each year.
