CVOR Surgical Technologist support patient care in the perioperative setting by assisting surgeons and nursing staff before, during and after surgical procedures. What you will do in this role:

• The role of the CVOR Surgical Technician is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment and supplies.
• The CVOR Surgical Technician in Surgery provides care for adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
• The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
• The CVOR Surgical Technician understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• The CVOR Surgical Technician has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• When the CVOR Surgical Technician is in the second scrub role they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera.

What qualifications you will need:

• Associates Degree or Vocational School Graduate or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of degree
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required;
