We are seeking an experienced Auto, General & Liability (AGL) Claims Representative for our Overland Park, KS office. The successful candidate will handle and maintain all AGL claims and file reviews under general supervision as part of the ESIS team.
Key ObjectiveUnder the guidance of the Claims Team Leader, investigate and settle claims promptly, equitably, and in accordance with best practices guidelines.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Receive assignments and review claim and policy information to support investigations, determining the policy's obligation to the insured based on the line of business.
- Interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc., to gather necessary claim information.
- Inspect and appraise property damage or arrange for such appraisal, depending on the line of business.
- Evaluate investigation facts to determine liability and the company's obligation under the policy.
- Prepare reports on investigations, settlements, claim denials, and evaluations of involved parties.
- Set reserves within authority limits and recommend reserve adjustments to the Team Leader.
- Review claims progress and discuss issues with the Team Leader, proposing remedial actions.
- Notify claimants, insureds, or attorneys of claim denials when applicable.
- Assist in developing improved claims handling methods and procedures.
- Settle claims promptly and fairly, obtaining necessary releases and proofs of loss, and issuing payments.
