Kansas Mission Church (KMC) is a theologically conservative, evangelical, non-denominational church located in Overland Park, Kansas, a vibrant suburb near Kansas City that consistently ranks among the best places to live and raise a family in the United States according to many publications and organizations. KMC is dedicated to faithfully preaching the Word of God and nurturing believers in a spirit of humility and service.

It is a Korean-American English Ministry (EM) that operates with its own governance, budget, and leadership team, partnering closely with the Korean-language Ministry (KM).

The church is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead and shepherd the English Ministry congregation in close partnership with the Elders, Deacons, and staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep commitment to serving the church with compassion, humility, and transparency, guiding the congregation in their spiritual growth. This individual should possess strong administrative and leadership skills while also fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.

Above all, the church seeks a pastor who exemplifies Christ‑like character and is committed to equipping the church family to live for Christ both in public and private life.

Qualifications and Experience
  • A life that reflects the Biblical qualifications for a shepherding elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.
    • A personal, intimate relationship with God.
    • A life above reproach, striving for personal holiness.
    • If applicable, a faithful husband and father, effectively managing his own household.
    • Able to teach, defend, and apply sound doctrine.
    • Self-controlled, respectable, and hospitable.
    • Committed to continual personal development and spiritual growth.
    • Demonstrates personal accountability and seeks mentorship.
  • Alignment with KMC’s Vision and Beliefs.
  • Master of Divinity degree from an ATS‑accredited institution.
  • At least three years of pastoral experience.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with diverse and multigenerational congregation(s).
  • Able to preach the Word of God with clarity.
  • Able to foster healthy team dynamics, address tensions and conflicts with grace, and build trust among staff and church members.
  • Able to provide care and promote development both spiritually and in leadership for the staff and lay leaders.
  • Preferred: ordained in a conservative evangelical denomination.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in a Korean‑American ministry or have cultural ties to Korean culture.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee Sunday worship services, including preaching and leading the congregation in worship.
  • Regularly meet with church leadership for training, planning, and discipleship.
  • Maintain office hours for study, prayer, and visitation of church members.
  • Attend and serve at church events, functions, and special services.
Weekly Expectations
  • Sermon Preparation and Congregational Care (60-70%)
    • Preaching, teaching, counseling, visitations, and discipleship.
    • Leading monthly prayer services.
  • Administration and Operations (30-40%)
    • Staff training and support, including the onboarding of new staff.
    • Coordinating church communications and utilizing church management software.
    • Planning and scheduling major church events (e.g., Annual Growth in Grace Conference) and routine maintenance.
    • Help maintain basic facility upkeep.
Compensation
  • Total compensation package: $75,000-$95,000
  • Benefits package includes:
