American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 2 trauma center experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details- 24-bed Emergency Department in a Level 2 trauma center
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Mid-shift scheduling with shifts as early as 10a-2230 and as late as
- Works every third weekend
- Uses Meditech documentation system
- Equipment includes Level 1 fluid warmer, GE monitor system, Arctic Sun, Lifepak, and Alaris pumps
- Unit staffed with 5 core RNs and unit secretary coverage 21 hours/day
- Floating is rare and only occurs if other staff have been flexed home
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency/Trauma nursing experience in a Level 2 trauma center
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Certification
- CPI certification required for all ER units
- CEN or TCRN certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of trauma care, STEMI care, stroke care, sepsis management, and triage
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Provide emergency and trauma nursing care including all procedures associated with a Level 2 trauma center
- Utilize AIDET communication standards and whiteboards to enhance patient experience
- Maintain a positive, can-do attitude as part of unit culture
- Required dress code: cobalt blue top with black or cobalt blue pants, solid color, and closed-toe shoes
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
