Emergency Room (ER), ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Specialty, Med Surg, Ortho & Spine Specialty, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Neuro Trauma [must have minimum one (1) year with direct nursing experience with patient population to qualify for Seasonal PRN RN openings]All Seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (0.9 FTEs) during the seasonal period.
Two (2) weekend shifts are required for each 4-week period if applicable.
During the 16-week period, the employee is required to work one holiday shift as defined by Department Manager or designee.
Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital. However, if employees are called off by the facility, then they will still be eligible for the completion bonus.
Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401 (k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
Staff members classified in the Seasonal Program are eligible for Critical Staffing Need Differential payments, when approved for their department and after they have completed three scheduled shifts in a week (i.e. 4th shift is paid Critical Staffing Differential)
Shifts may vary based on needs of the department.
After the completion period has been met, employees are eligible to apply to open FT/PT/PRN vacancies.
Current PRN employees with 0.001 or .3 FTE commitment can be considered for this program. Based on business needs, the seasonal program can be ended at any time.
This program cannot be combined with Seasonal Incentive Program.
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”
The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Graduate of accredited nursing school, ADN or BSN required.
