Position: Maintenance Mechanic Electrical
Type of Position: Full-time Hourly
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Wednesday-Saturday; 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
Starting Salary Range: $23.16-$29.97 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.
Position SummaryResponsible for maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, repairs/breakdowns, and performing service and corrective repairs on all electrical systems inside and outside.
Required Qualifications- Senior-level support role.
- Completes assignments with little supervision.
- May assist less-experienced team members.
- Requires a High School Diploma and 3+ years of related experience.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record to be insured to operate college vehicles.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Properly maintain, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues utilizing specialized equipment, tools, blueprints, schematics, and drawings as needed.
- Maintain/repair emergency generators, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, transfer switches, and electrical switch gear, including installation of panels and breakers and campus remodels.
- Work off up to 60-foot boom lifts to maintain interior and exterior lighting and streetlights.
- Install, maintain, and repair all types of transformers, lighting, motor controls, and single and three phase systems.
- Locate all types of in-ground private utilities and maintain all building and underground wiring systems per National Electrical Code (NEC) codes.
- Install lighting and electrical systems for remodels and additional service requests.
- Respond to emergency calls on nights and weekends.
- Perform winter snow removal on campus by snowplowing, sweeping, shoveling, and applying ice melt, salt, and sand when needed.
- Partner with the electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, custodial, and grounds crews to help maintain the campus.
