Senior 3D Graphics Software Engineer

The Senior 3D Graphics Software Engineer will play a key role in the small core software team, responsible for designing and developing the next generation of our real-time graphics rendering engine and content creation tools. They will enhance our art path and integrate it with our shader engine to achieve the next level of realism and performance. Periodic travel to Aechelon Technology’s headquarters in South San Francisco, CA is required.

• Design and develop the next generation of the real-time graphics rendering engine and content creation tools.
• Enhance the art path and integrate it with the shader engine to improve realism and performance.
• Collaborate within a small core software team to deliver high-quality graphics software for simulation and visualization.

• 5+ years of experience in design and architecture of 3D real-time graphics applications for the game, broadcast, entertainment or visual simulation industries
• Experience leading a team of peers in shipping exceptional products within delivery deadlines
• In-depth knowledge of and experience programming in C and C++
• Experience developing OpenGL, Vulkan or Direct3D applications, including real-time engines, graphics tools for the content creation pipeline and programmable shading
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with export-controlled technology

• Experience with rendering engines and scene graphs such as Intrinsic Alchemy, Open Scene Graph , Unreal, Unity, or Source
• Experience with GPU computing platforms such as OpenCL, CUDA, or Direct Compute
• Experience with Vulkan or Direct

• Experience with defect tracking systems such as Bugzilla or Jira
• Experience with Configuration Management (CM) systems such as Perforce or Git
• Experience developing tools to work with geographic data such as KML, vector files, digital elevation and satellite imagery

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
