QA Test Engineer - KS Overland Park, KS

Our Software team is looking for a QA Test Engineer to help us in our mission. The QA Test Engineer role supports our Software, Database, and Systems Engineering teams by testing our proprietary Image Generator (pc‑Nova) through automated scripts, maintaining our test system and test lab, and building new test features as needed. This position requires Python programming expertise to maintain the current setup and develop new test capabilities.

This position requires five days per week in-office at the company’s Kansas location; it is not a remote work position. The requirement may change based on the applicant’s familiarity with our test system infrastructure.

United States citizenship is required due to restrictions on access to certain data.

• Maintain the QA test lab to ensure all test systems are operational for Kansas‑based engineers.
• Work with the platform team to upgrade or order new test hardware, firmware, and software as needed.
• Reproduce issues in the lab with Kansas‑based engineers.
• Maintain and expand the proprietary Python code for our automated test system.
• Extend Jenkins scripting to improve the automated test suite.
• Create new automation scripts for complex testing requirements (stress tests, performance tests, special features, etc.).
• Create and maintain an image diffing test suite.
• Develop test plans and design automated tests using our proprietary test system.
• Perform manual testing on new features for software releases when needed.
• Communicate with other team members across time zones.
• Serve as a resource for others to learn how to use the test system.
• Help document the test system for internal and external users.

• Experience testing 3D graphics applications and/or content creation tools.
• Solid understanding of 3D graphics concepts.
• Good eye for technical and aesthetic problems with software.
• Experience with writing automated tests.
• Strong experience using command prompts (DOS, bash, etc.).
• Experience with project management for software using Jira or similar.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills and tenacity to follow through.
• Eligibility to work with export‑controlled technology.

• Video game or 3D graphics testing experience.
• Experience with flight simulation software.
• Experience with VR or MR headset configuration/testing.
• Experience creating image diff tests.
• Experience with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Bash, Git Hub.
• Experience writing technical documentation.
• Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, GIS, geospatial or geotypical content creation.
