This position will coordinate, participate, and direct maintenance activities related to the chemical herbicide program and the assembly and erection of highway signs as needed.

Annual Salary Range:
$39,976.59 - $51,734.41
Your Specific Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, participate, and direct maintenance activities for the chemical herbicide program and highway sign assembly/erection.
- Assist in selecting materials, supplies, and equipment, inspect work, plan workloads, and maintain records.
- Operate vehicles and equipment upon obtaining the necessary CDL permits; perform maintenance and inspections.
- Perform manual highway maintenance using various tools.
- Motivate and evaluate crew members; communicate regularly; train in Temporary Traffic Control.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of: safety rules, highway maintenance techniques, crew leadership principles.
- Skills in: operating hand/power tools, maintaining equipment, record-keeping, communication.
- Ability to: train others, understand job materials, develop relationships, lift up to 50 lbs., work outdoors in various conditions, work independently.
Other Requirements:
- Respond to emergencies, be “on-call” as needed.
- Possess a valid Class “E” driver’s license; obtain a Class “B” CDL within 60 days; maintain certification in Temporary Traffic Control.
- Work with or around Department of Corrections inmates; herbicide applicators must be licensed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; one year of infrastructure maintenance/construction experience substitutes for diploma.
- Class E driver’s license at hire; CDL Class B permit within 60 days; license with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 10 months.
