Packages, labels, and prices bakery products. Maintains stock levels and product quality by monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating baked goods.
- Assists bakery personnel with preparing, packaging, labeling, and maintaining product displays.
- Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
- Stacks pallets and sorts product into correct locations according to company efficiency standards.
- Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to safety procedures.
- Provides friendly, customer-service-oriented attitude by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking orders by phone and in person.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and calibrated scales.
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as bread slicer and commercial oven.
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools.
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Attention to hazards and ability to remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices promptly. Report hazards when needed.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Food Handler certification required.
- Typically involves on-the-job training.
- Continuously required to use close and distance vision, depth perception or ability to focus; stand or walk; use hands for reaching, touching or handling; talk and hear.
- frequently required to bend, kneel, squat, or stoop; push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs; occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Attendance at work is required.
- Retail store environment with exposure to hot surfaces, extreme cold, extreme heat, wet or damp conditions, and equipment with sharp blades or edges; exposure to cleaning agents.
- Quiet to moderate noise level.
