Seasonal Tax Preparer - Southern Minnesota

CLA is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our talented tax team. This role prepares tax returns for individuals, businesses, and trusts, helping clients comply with tax laws while minimizing liabilities and maximizing savings.

This position is intended for casual and/or seasonal family members.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 1040 forms for individual income tax returns and file electronically or by mail.
• Calculate tax liabilities and refunds, applying applicable deductions, credits, and exemptions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Collect and organize tax documents and enter data into tax preparation software.
• Communicate with clients, answer questions, and provide guidance on tax matters.
• Record billable time in the billing system for timely invoicing.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience in tax return preparation preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.

Compensation

• Minnesota: $24 - $35 per hour.
