Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota
.

In this role you will perform the more complex duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of company machinery, equipment, and facilities.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am.

• Work with engineering on the design and fabrication of new equipment and machines

• Diagnose and repair machinery and equipment as promptly as possible to minimize production downtime.
• Install new machinery, fixtures and necessary plumbing and related hook-ups for the machinery to become fully operational.
• Build machine guards, shields, chutes, trays, racks, tanks, and related attachments to increase safety on the production floor.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years in an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic vocational program, or 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic.
• Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems and prints.
• Ability to use lathe and mill.
• Ability to read mechanical blueprints, weld, braze, and cut with a torch and/or plasma cutter.

The hourly wage for this position is $30.00 per hour plus $2.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift.
