The Stores person position is located in Meaford at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre and typically reports directly to the Stores Supervisor. The primary duties of a Stores person are to work in the main warehouse securing and accounting for various items of clothing and equipment;

including issuing and exchanging items and completing stock checks and counts.

• Receiving as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensuring items are adequate
• Pick items to be issued, transmit issues, notifying customers and liaising with Inventory Control
• Review stock inventory and quality
• Issue clean and serviceable stock
• Respond to customer requests
• Assist customer with the loading of bulky stock
• Process receipts, exchanges, returns
• Accept stock returned; confirming serviceability of items or initiating repairs
• Perform other duties as required
• Follow all Health and Safety requirements including wearing all mandatory personal protective equipment and participating in any Health and Safety training that is required

• High school Diploma or equivalent

• Knowledge of DND policies and procedures

2 or more years’ experience in the following would be considered an asset:

• SAP experience
• Forklift operation
• Pallet jackets
• Carts
• 3 ton truck

• Proficient knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
• Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety

Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance. Continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.

Due to many mandatory vaccination requirements at client projects/facilities, the successful candidate may be required to validate full vaccination prior to hire.

Applicants will be required to provide detailed information covering the past 10 years, including employment, education, and residency history. For this reason, continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.

Individuals who successfully complete the interview process and do not already hold a valid security clearance will be sponsored for Secret Security Clearance. To obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada, applicants must undergo a comprehensive 10‑year background check. This includes financial and criminal record checks, as well as a security assessment conducted by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS).
