Will You Be Doing!

As a Project Leader with the Douglas Point Reactor Decommissioning team, you will manage the delivery of medium‑risk decommissioning projects from planning through execution. Working closely with the Project Manager and field teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Managing the delivery of medium‑risk decommissioning projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives
  • Leading Decommissioning Field Specialists supporting Operations, including work assignments and performance management
  • Planning project budgets, schedules, and resource requirements in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Leading multiple projects simultaneously, typically three to four projects totaling $5M–$10M annually over a 3–5‑year horizon
  • Assembling project teams and supporting detailed cost development using work‑package breakdowns
  • Leading the development of scopes of work and procurement packages
  • Managing contractor engagement, including proposal evaluation, contract award, and contract oversight
  • Monitoring project and contractor performance against scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
  • Establishing and controlling project scope while identifying and managing project risks
  • Escalating issues that may impact schedule or cost and supporting corrective actions
  • Supporting the Project Manager with budget, schedule, and reporting activities
  • Reporting project performance to clients, management, and other stakeholders

Other duties as assigned by your manager.

Education
  • Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Engineering or Science from a university of recognized standing OR
  • Membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute OR
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
Experience
  • Experience across key project lifecycle phases including Project Definition, Concept Development, and Decommissioning
  • Experience applying project management processes for initiation, planning, execution, control, and close‑out
  • Demonstrated experience applying core project management knowledge areas, including scope, cost, schedule, quality, communications, risk, procurement, and integration
  • Experience delivering projects within a regulated environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of federal licensing requirements, nuclear codes and standards, and environmental regulations
  • Experience developing and executing project plans
  • Ability to define scope, set priorities, manage risk, and monitor performance
  • Ability to coordinate and direct the work of moderate‑sized project teams
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience building and sustaining teams of approximately 6–12 personnel
  • Strong understanding of business and management principles related to project delivery
  • Knowledge of procurement, financial, and contract administration processes
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and supplier oversight experience
Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of three (3) to five (5) years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s Standard on Security Screening and the Policy on Government Security.
