Intermediate or Senior Planner

Established in 2017, COBIDE Engineering Inc. is a busy consulting engineering and planning firm based in Hanover, Ontario. We support public- and private-sector clients with land development applications across Grey, Bruce, and Wellington Counties.

We provide planning services from pre-consultation through to development approvals for all applications under the Planning Act. As part of our team, you will work on a broad range of land use planning and development projects alongside experienced planning and engineering professionals.

• Manage land use planning projects and development applications, coordinating with clients, municipal staff, consultants, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Prepare planning reports and supporting materials, including Planning Justification Reports and Briefs, Due Diligence Reports, site plans, and subdivision designs.
• Interpret planning policy, legislation, and regulations, and provide professional planning opinions and recommendations.
• Attend meetings with clients, municipal staff, committees, and Council, including occasional meetings outside regular business hours.

• A university degree in Planning or a related discipline.
• Full or Candidate Membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) and Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
• At least three years of progressively responsible experience in land use planning and development in the private or municipal sector.
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act, Provincial Planning Statement, Official Plans, and Zoning By-Laws.
• Strong project management, research, problem-solving, and professional communication skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• A valid G driver’s licence.

We offer a full benefits package and salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. This is an in-office position, and regular office presence is required; however, specific scheduling arrangements and flexibility can be discussed based on the successful candidate’s needs and the requirements of the role. Our office is located at 517 10th Street, Hanover, Ontario. Regular office hours are Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
