.Reportingtothe Financial Services Supervisor ,thispositionplaysakeyroleinmaintainingthe

City'sfinancialintegritythroughfinancialreporting,analysis,budgetingsupport,treasuryfunctions,businesssystemssupport,andcontinuousimprovementinitiatives.

The Financial Analystworkscollaborativelyacrosstheorganizationtoprovidefinancialinsight ,supportdecision-making,enhancefinancialprocesses,andensurecompliancewithmunicipallegislation,accounting standards,andinternalcontrols.

Thispositionalsosupportscustomerserviceinitiatives,financialtechnologymodernization,andcorporatereportingrequirements.

• Prepare,review,andreconcilegeneralledgeraccounts,journal entries,paymentvouchers,andfinancialtransactions.
• Assistwithannualfinancialstatements,year-endworkingpapers,andexternalauditrequirements.
• Maintainandsupportaccountingrecordsfortangiblecapitalassets,including acquisitions,disposals,and transfers.
• Providefinancialanalysisandreportingtodepartmentsacrosstheorganization.
• Supportcompliancewith Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS),Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),municipallegislation,andinternalcontrols.

• Supportthepreparation,monitoring,andreportingofthe

• Conductvarianceanalysisandfinancialforecasting.
• Assistwithreservefund,fleet,capital,andcorporatefinancialreporting.
• Providefinancialinformationtosupportlong-termplanningandoperationaldecision-making.
• Identifyopportunitiestoimprovereportingprocessesandorganizationalefficiency.

• Assistwithimplementation,testing,configuration,andsupportoffinancialandbusinesssystems.
• Participateinreportdevelopment,system enhancements,useracceptancetesting,andprocessimprovementinitiatives.
• SupportongoingadministrationandcontinuousimprovementoffinancialapplicationsandERPsystems.
• Liaisewithfinancialinstitutionsandvendorsregardingelectronicbanking,payment processing,and treasury-related technologies.
• Support customer-facingfinancialtechnologiesincludingonlinepaymentsystemsandcustomerportals.

• Providesupportfortaxandwaterbilling,collections,andcustomeraccountinquiries.
• Assistcustomerswithpaymentoptions,accountregistration,andonlineservices.
• Supporttreasuryoperations,electronicbankingtransactions,reconciliations,andpaymentprocessing.
• Providebackupsupportforaccountspayableandrelatedfinancialfunctions.
• Assistwithcustomercommunicationsrelatedtofinancialservicesandprocessimprovements.

• Actasa Finance Division Share Point Key Userandsupportcontinuousimprovementofinformationmanagementprocesses .
• Maintaindocumentlibraries,permissions,andrecordsmanagementstandards.
• Collaborateoninformationgovernanceandrecordsretentioninitiatives.
• Providebackupsupportfor Service Owen Soundcustomerserviceoperations .
• Participateinprojectsthatimprovecustomerservice,strengtheninternalcontrols,andenhanceorganizationaleffectiveness.

• Two-year
  
  College Diplomain Accounting ,Finance,Economics,Business Administration,orarelateddiscipline.
• Minimum three(3) yearsofexperienceinafinancialoraccounting-related role.
• Municipalexperienceisconsideredanasset.
• Municipal Tax Administration Program and /orMunicipal Administration Programcertificationconsideredassets .
