Personal Support Worker

Under the direction of the Co-Director of Care, the Personal Support Worker is an integral part of the health care team, and in this role, encourages, supports and promotes independence for the residents by assisting with activities of daily living.

The Person al Support Worker is responsible for a comprehensive range of duties encompassing resident care, interdisciplinary collaboration, adherence to organizational policies, and the maintenance of a safe environment. Core responsibilities involve provision of direct patient care, diligent observation and timely reporting of changes in health status, and accurate completion of all required documentation.

Qualifications and traits:

• Must have successfully completed a personal support work program that meets the requirements in subsection 52(2) of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021 and Ontario Regulation ss. 246/22; and provides proof of graduation issued by the education provider.
• Candidates are also considered who are enrolled in an RN or RPN program in Ontario.
• Experience in Long Term Care (Gerontology) setting is an asset.
• Ensures all Ministry of Long Term Care requirements are met.
• Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education.
• Displays a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
• Understands the demands and rewards of the role.
• To enhance the requirements for quality customer service and engagement.
• Must be computer literate.
