The senior network architect guides the strategy, architecture, and standards for secure, resilient, and highly available network services that underpin patient care, clinical systems, and enterprise operations. This role is accountable for enabling clinical uptime, reducing technology risk, and advancing network modernization across hospital, clinic, and remote care environments. The position provides senior technical leadership for network architecture, firewall and security engineering, and operational reliability, while serving as a trusted advisor to it leadership, clinical stakeholders, and cybersecurity teams.
The role guides major infrastructure decisions, supports regulated-environment compliance, and acts as the senior escalation point for complex issues affecting clinical continuity and service resilience. The role spans enterprise hospitals, ambulatory sites, remote care environments, and vendor connected networks, with architectural governance and technical sign-off responsibility for major network design changes and standards.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive it experience, including significant senior-level ownership of
Enterprise network architecture in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
Bs/ba degree in information technology, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Demonstrated experience designing and operating mission-critical network environments that support emr/ehr platforms, clinical applications, and 24x7 service delivery.
Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity tools and technologies
Proven ability to lead technical changes, influence enterprise standards, and advise leadership on infrastructure risk, readiness, and modernization decisions.
Minimum 10 years proven experience and extensive knowledge of routing protocols, switching architecture, tcp/ip, vlans, dns, dhcp, and wireless networking
Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms and network security best practice technologies
Proven experience supporting mission-critical, 24x7 healthcare or regulated environments
Proven experience with supporting an emr/ehr (e.g., oracle health, epic, meditech)
Demonstrated expertise in secure integration patterns, identity-aware access, and segmentation strategies for medical devices, third-party vendors, and enterprise clinical
Relevant senior-level certification such as ccnp/ccie, cissp, security+, pcnse, nse, or equivalent is required.
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
Strategic technical judgment with the ability to make high-impact architecture decisions in patient-care and other mission-critical environments.
Executive-level composure and problem-solving in major incidents, with the ability to lead technical response and recovery under pressure.
Ability to balance cybersecurity, clinical usability, service resilience, and operational practicality in complex decision-making.
Clear, credible communication with executive leaders, clinical stakeholders, and technical teams to align decisions, risk, and priorities.
Strong operational discipline in documentation, governance, and risk management to support reliable execution in regulated environments.
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Preferred
Deep experience with medical device networking, clinical system integrations, and the operational constraints of patient-care environments.
Experience designing cloud and hybrid network architectures in azure, aws, or comparable enterprise healthcare environments.
Knowledge of zero trust architecture, sd-wan, and modern healthcare cybersecurity frameworks that support segmentation, resilience, and remote care delivery.
Experience leading enterprise infrastructure transformations, hospital expansions, or major clinical technology rollouts in complex environments.
Advanced expertise with leading enterprise networking platforms such as aruba or comparable technologies used in large-scale healthcare environments.
Procsi and/or project management certifications preferred
