A Day In the Life

This position is a lifestyle. Starting in the spring, it’s possible you’ll be on the road for close to 2 weeks at a time, with plenty of hours to work within the season so if you’re looking for LOTS OF WORK, this is a great opportunity. On days when the weather isn’t cooperating, you will still get hours while focusing on general maintenance & cleaning of the trucks and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants in compliance with Miller Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) polices and contractual HSE obligation for the staff and public are met
  • Operate Full size ¾ ton trucks with onboard sign/message boards
  • Operate Forklifts and loaders
  • Load and unload Materials
  • Assist in Lay out and pre mark on new and existing asphalt
  • Set up and take down Traffic control as per OTM book7
  • Maintain accurate documentation – driver logs, fuel records, time sheets, Daily work Logs
  • Maintain/clean equipment and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Class D commercial license with air brake endorsement (Z)
  • Willingness to learn and appreciate Miller Values - safety, quality and integrity so we can continue “Building Greatness”
  • Excellent team player to work productively in a highly functional team
  • Willingness to work assigned day and night shifts
  • Ability to travel and extended stays when required
  • Excellent team player to work productivity in a highly functional team
  • Ability to perform minor repairs on the equipment are considered an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and mechanically inclined
  • Previous experience in highway painting and maintenance with knowledge of OTM Book 7 traffic control will be given preference

$18-25/hr
