Mental Health Registered Nurse

Join Brightshores as a full-time Registered Nurse in Owen Sound. Provide vital outreach services to older adults facing complex mental health and neurological challenges.

Reporting to the Mental Health Services Manager, this full-time temporary role focuses on support for older adults dealing with addictions, dementia, and other neurological conditions. You will utilize your qualifications, including PIECES certification, psycho/social assessment skills, and advanced computer proficiency to enhance patient care. This position involves collaboration with family members and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outreach services to older adults with complex needs

• Conduct psycho/social and mental status assessments

• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications

• Collaborate with families and community providers

• Advocate for patient safety and develop individualized care plans

Requirements:

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Minimum of two years’ experience in Geriatric Assessment

• Knowledge of DSM-IV-R and Mental Health Act

• Valid Class G driver’s license

• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
