This temporary position requires a skilled nurse reporting to the Manager of Surgical Services. Candidates must have at least two years of recent PACU and acute care nursing experience alongside a strong surgical background across various subspecialties. The role supports adults and children during phases I and II of post-anesthesia care, emphasizing excellent assessment and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote health through supportive and therapeutic measures
• Assess and report on patient conditions pre- and post-anesthesia
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for optimal care
• Educate patients and families on recovery processes
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations
Requirements:
• Registration with Ontario College of Nurses
• Minimum 2 years PACU experience
• Post Anesthetic Course completion
• Broad surgical experience required
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in Cerner applications
