Thalle Construction Co., Inc. ("Thalle") is currently seeking a Construction Surveyor. The Surveyor will report to the Project Superintendent and work closely with the operations team and staff at all levels, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Thalle, established in 1947, is a heavy civil construction company with a corporate office in Hillsborough, NC and a regional office in Alvarado, Texas. Construction Surveyor

Competitive compensation package based on experience.

• Assists with survey computations and data collection including construction layout calculations, grade sheet computation, topographical/volume analysis, and project data conversion/transformation.
• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as‑built surveys.
• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
• Oversee survey aspects of civil engineering projects and/or direct preparation of all types of survey plans.
• Conduct plan research and review.
• Perform fieldwork associated with land surveying.
• Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with heavy civil projects and structures.
• Experience with robotic total station, GPS, and level.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of geological description principles and methods.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, legal codes, and government regulations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, focused, self‑motivated, possess good work ethic and be a team player.
• Ability to travel will be required.
• Valid driver’s license required, and candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check.

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA and other standards.
• Must be able to work outdoors on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
