We are currently looking for a Pipeline Safety Supervisor for our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.
Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for supervising the technical support to Operations and Engineering & Construction for both new and existing facilities to ensure safe and compliant operation within BWP. The role represents the company in a professional capacity and oversees engineering analyses, support, and calculations related to the following activities:
- 49 CFR 192 and 195 Pressure Testing calculations and approvals
- Researching and writing Special Permits; these could involve class changes, retroactive class changes, and other instances where BWP seeks deviation from 49 CFR 192 and 195 regulations
- 49 CFR 192 and 195 MAOP and MOP confirmation and calculations
- 49 CFR 192 Subpart J Uprate studies
- 49 CFR 192 Odorization studies
- 49 CFR 192 Over pressure Protection studies
- 49 CFR 192 and 195 Auditing completed compliance documentation
- TVC review of pipeline documentation
- Ability to read, understand, and apply directions, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations
- Excellent problem solving and written and verbal communication skills
- Well organized with a high degree of initiative
- Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal direct supervision
- Strong computer applications skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Must be willing and able to travel (15% of time) and work in a variety of environments, including pipeline rights-of-way and manufacturing facilities
- Ability to teach others about complex technical issues
- Pressure testing knowledge and test approval experience
- Experience with inspections by industry regulators
- Ability to present to all levels of leadership
- Previous supervisory role
- BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
- Masters Degree and / or P.E.
