The Operations Team Member assists in all aspects of event execution and daily facility upkeep at the Owensboro Convention Center. Duties include setting up and tearing down events, operating audio‑visual equipment, assisting with maintenance projects, and other assigned tasks. Hours are event schedule‑driven. The role pays an hourly rate of $13.50.

Responsibilities- Organize and maintain the convention center and its equipment.
- Set up and tear down event equipment as specified in event documents.
- Perform housekeeping duties before and after events to prepare the space.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned to ensure cleanliness and event success.
- Adhere to all operating procedures and complete tasks timely.
- Assist with mentoring/training new employees per management direction.
- Review event documents to understand needs and timelines.
- Communicate scheduling and availability with supervisors and management.
- Maintain departmental equipment and notify the Operations Manager of repairs.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Availability to work scheduled hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Valid driver’s license preferred; reliable transportation required.
- Reliable phone, e‑mail, or text communication.
- Multi‑tasking and organizational skills for fast‑paced environments.
- Follow oral, written, and diagrammatic instructions from managers and supervisors.
- Clear communication in English, oral and written.
- Self‑motivated to remain task‑focused independently.
- Interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills for team success.
- Physically able to work long hours on feet, lift and move at least 50lbs.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards/requirements (preferred).
- Certification or experience operating heavy equipment (advantageous).
