Job ResponsibilitiesProvide law enforcement services for the Police Department and the citizens of Owensboro to ensure a safe, productive, efficient, and customer-oriented administration of city services, following accepted law enforcement practices under the guidance of designated management, policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Patrol assigned areas on foot or in police vehicles to control traffic, prevent crime, maintain peace, and arrest violators. May be assigned to other units as needed.
Qualifications for Lateral Transfer- At least 2 consecutive years of paid experience as a full-time peace officer
- Must have been employed as a full-time peace officer within the previous 12 months prior to application
- Be POPS certified, with certification portable and obtained without attending the OPD or DOCJT Basic Training Academy
