Job Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the gaming floor, public spaces, and employee areas. This role involves ensuring that all areas are neat, safe, and sanitary for both guests and staff. The Housekeeper must adhere to high standards of cleanliness and safety while delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, the Housekeeper contributes to the facility's commitment to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in bathrooms and public areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down surfaces to meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Ensure all amenities are replenished according to policies and guest expectations.
- Clean and sanitize public areas such as the gaming floor, lobby, bathrooms, and hallways to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests.
- Respond to guest requests for additional amenities or assistance in a prompt and professional manner.
- Ensure the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment while following safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Report maintenance issues such as faulty equipment, broken furniture, or plumbing problems to the supervisor or maintenance team promptly.
- Inspect bathrooms and public areas regularly to ensure that they meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures related to cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
- Assist in the stocking and inventory management of cleaning supplies.
- Follow all safety protocols, including emergency procedures and proper handling of cleaning agents, to ensure the safety of staff and guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Adhere to uniform and grooming standards set by the facility.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to stay calm and courteous under pressure or in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Dependability and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in housekeeping or custodial services, particularly in a hospitality or gaming environment, is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to respond to guest requests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
The employee is regularly required to stand, speak, hear, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to sit. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and peripheral vision. The work environment may be moderately quiet in the office and loud on the gaming floor, with exposure to cigarette smoke.
