Bartenders are responsible for serving guests liquor/beer/wine during events while ensuring all policies and procedures regarding alcohol dispensing are followed.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $10.00 and is tip eligible.

The River Park Center is a non-profit regional performing arts and civic center that has entertained and educated over 4 million people – including 900,000 children – since the opening year in 1992. River Park Center has nearly 100,000 square feet including a state-of-the-art 1,479 seat auditorium (Cannon Hall), the multi-purpose Jody Berry Cabaret Theatre, an outdoor entertainment patio (The BB&T Plaza) on the banks of the Ohio River, events spaces and meeting rooms, and a bricked center courtyard (Atmos Courtyard).

• Must demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellent in guest service, interaction with co-workers and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
• Learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available, and be able to upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check guest’s  accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Listen and respond to customer requests or concerns.
• De-escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required.
• Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond standard scope.
• Request additional product or restock as required.
• Ability to handle cash accurately; employee is responsible for issued bank at bar.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station at all times; ensure bar equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Other duties as assigned such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment and assisting with organization of the cooler.
