Technician III

Repairs and maintains diesel trucks by performing the following duties.

• Perform all job duties required of a Technician I and II
• Record clear and concise notes and charge out all parts used in TINA
• Ensure all parts removed are tagged for warranty
• Follow troubleshooting tree to diagnose and repair most codes
• Diagnose and repair the following:
  • Oil and coolant leaks (EGR cooler, water pumps, failed seals, etc.)
  • Drivelines
  • Fuel systems including fuel pumps, injectors, etc.
  • Most EGR, ATD, DPF, and turbos
• Knowledge to diagnose and repair body control systems
• Understand truck computer electronic systems
• Understand APUs enough to complete basic repairs
• Diagnose and repair of drive lines

One year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Moving and handling oily parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

• 3-5 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician
• 609 Certified
• Air Brake Certified
• Valid CDL License a plus
• ASE Diesel Certification a Plus
• Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, MX Certified a plus
