Repairs and maintains diesel trucks by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform all job duties required of a Technician I and II
- Record clear and concise notes and charge out all parts used in TINA
- Ensure all parts removed are tagged for warranty
- Follow troubleshooting tree to diagnose and repair most codes
- Diagnose and repair the following:
- Oil and coolant leaks (EGR cooler, water pumps, failed seals, etc.)
- Drivelines
- Most EGR, ATD, DPF, and turbos
- Knowledge to diagnose and repair body control systems
- Understand truck computer electronic systems
- Understand APUs enough to complete basic repairs
- Can follow troubleshooting tree and diagnose and repair most codes
- Diagnose and repair of drive lines

Education and/or ExperienceOne year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Physical Demands- To stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
- The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sitThe employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Moving and handling oily parts
- The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places
- The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Skills and Abilities
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Diesel Technician
- 609 Certified
- Air Brake Certified
- ASE Diesel Certification a plus
- Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, MX Certified a plus
- Entry level
- Full-time
