Staff Accountant (DDA Knowledge Required)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with expertise in Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS). The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and thorough knowledge of financial compliance and reporting requirements within the DDA and LTSS sectors. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing transactions related to programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities and long-term care needs.
Responsibilities- Maintain and manage financial records for DDA and LTSS programs, including accounts payable, receivable, and client-specific documentation.
- Process payments and track funding for DDA and LTSS services, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Prepare and submit financial reports such as budgets, funding forecasts, and expense summaries.
- Reconcile bank statements, grants, and other transactions linked to DDA and LTSS funding.
- Assist with billing and reimbursement processes related to DDA and LTSS services.
- Ensure compliance of financial records with regulatory and audit standards.
- Support payroll processing for staff in DDA and LTSS roles.
- Assist with financial audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Monitor funding allocations to ensure expenses align with budgetary guidelines.
- Provide regular financial updates to management and program directors.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience focused on DDA and/or LTSS financial operations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Xero) and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with healthcare/social services financial systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of DDA and LTSS funding regulations, compliance, and reporting standards.
- Experience managing state and federal healthcare or developmental disabilities funding.
- Ability to work within a regulated environment and maintain compliance with laws and policies.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Bookkeeping or accounting certification is an advantage.
- Understanding of Medicaid billing and reimbursement for LTSS and DDA preferred.
- Experience working with developmental disabilities or long-term care populations is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of federal/state funding requirements for DDA and LTSS.
- Confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information.
In-office position. Monday through Friday, 5 hours per day (25 hours per week).
