Honest Abe Home Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Residential HVAC Apprentice. As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced technicians to learn and develop skills in installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of residential HVAC systems. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC industry and grow your career within a reputable company.
Responsibilities
Assist experienced HVAC technicians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.Learn how to read blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals to understand system specifications and ensure accurate installation and repairs.Understand and adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality and energy efficiency.Assist in diagnosing system malfunctions and determining the best course of action for repairs or replacements.Learn to use various hand and power tools necessary for HVAC installations and repairs.Keep detailed records of work performed, including parts used, labor time, and any additional notes or recommendations.Attend training sessions, classes, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in HVAC systems and related technologies.Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all equipment and tools are properly stored and maintained.Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and customer satisfaction.Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of work performed and any recommendations for future maintenance or repairs.Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Strong interest in the HVAC industry and willingness to learn and grow as an HVAC professional.Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.Physical ability to lift heavy equipment/machinery and work in various weather conditions.Good communication skills, both verbal and written.Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when necessary.Benefits
