Position: Direct Sales Agent Specialist (2976) - Owosso, MI

Direct Sales Agent Specialist – Direct Auto Insurance

National General (a division of The Allstate Corporation) is seeking a Direct Sales Agent Specialist to drive new business sales and support the growth of our Auto Insurance portfolio. The role is On‑Site at our retail location and focuses on building and retaining a book of business, cross‑selling existing customers, and engaging local community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell auto, life, auto club, and roadside assistance products to walk‑in customers.
  • Generate new business through calling, in‑person visits, and community outreach.
  • Cross‑sell and retain existing customers while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Develop a sales pipeline using community contacts such as dealerships, local events, and organizations.
  • Initiate outbound calling to an established target customer base for product offerings.
  • Monitor local competitors and recommend marketing initiatives to improve market position.
  • Collaborate with Direct Sales Leadership to plan, implement, and manage sales processes.
  • Deliver optimal results in quality, quantity, timeliness, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines, policy changes, and compliance standards.
  • Process customer payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash drawer reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of relevant sales experience.
  • P&C licensing preferred; must obtain required licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Proven track record of closing insurance sales and exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong community engagement skills and ability to build referral sources.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Compensation

Base compensation: $20.00 per hour. Total compensation may include commissions and bonuses based on individual and team performance.
