Overview
Learn and understand the proper operation of the employee's grinding machine (, Jig, and OD). Be responsible for that machine, report any problems to Management. Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges. Learn and be able to indicate or "zero" parts on machines. Grind parts to the specifications called for on "Travelers". Be familiar with the company computer system, knowing how to "clock" parts to locations and document the required paperwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Learn and understand the proper operation of your machine, reporting any problems to Management.
- Use and be able to read micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges.
- Learn to indicate or "zero" parts on machines.
- Grind parts to the specifications called for on "Travelers".
- Properly lubricate grinding equipment.
- Use a power hand tool to grind or buff parts.
- Use proper hearing, eye, and foot protection as required.
- Know and understand the dust recovery system and associated safety rules, and the potential exposures to grinding dust and dressing rock dust.

A. Safety Procedures. - Learn the proper use of the dot welding machine.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Quality Policy.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming product.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Procedures that apply to your specific machine(s).
- Comply with company rules and the dress code.
- Keep your assigned area and machine clean.

Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. - Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must speak, read and write the English language.
- Basic computer software skills.
- Knowledge of the use of measuring devices (micrometers, c-micrometers, bore gauges, etc.).
- Able to read blueprints.

- Learn all aspects of grinding (OJT)
- Learn ACI's grinding procedures. (see ACI training software for complete grinding procedures (Training outline HR003 and or training plan for specific details) Also see OJT training form TR002)
- Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Quality Policy.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming product.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the ISO Procedures that apply to your specific area(s).
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Domestic repair station and quality manual.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Control of Non-conforming product.
- Have knowledge and understanding of SFAR/88 Related operating rules.
- Have knowledge and understanding of Suspected Unapproved Parts.
- Have knowledge and understanding of all safety procedures applicable to the job or jobs being performed.
- Have an understanding of how to look up MSDS on any chemical they may come in contact with.
- Initial and Annual training for RCRA Hazardous Waste Management / 40
CFR 265.16
The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Lift heavy part chucks (50-100 lbs.)
- Lift heavy grinding rocks (50-90 lbs.)
- Lift heavy parts (50-80 lbs.)
- Most of the heavy lifting occurs in the O.
D. Shop.
Must have H. S. Diploma or GED, 3 months to 2 years' experience. Prior work experience in machine grinding helpful but not required.
