Phonics Teacher Learning

Join Oxford Learning Kerrisdale as a part-time Little Readers Teacher for phonics instruction aimed at children ages 3-6. Engage young learners in person to build foundational literacy skills through interactive lessons.

This role requires working with up to three students at a time, following pre-planned lesson structures provided by Oxford Learning. You will receive comprehensive training on proprietary teaching methods, emphasizing phonics, reading comprehension, and fine motor skills development. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, experience with early learners, and strong communication skills in English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach phonics and reading skills using proprietary materials

• Interact with young students as an Interactive Coach

• Maintain a friendly and professional atmosphere

• Foster self-confidence and esteem among children

• Deliver engaging in-person lessons following curriculum

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or extensive tutoring experience

• Experience teaching or tutoring grades 1-5

• Strong English communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple students effectively

• Compliance with vulnerable sector screening
