Lead a Learning Centre. Build a Great Team. Make a Difference for Students.

Oxford Learning West Vancouver is looking for an experienced, confident, and highly personable Education Director to lead the day-to-day operation of our learning centre.

This is not simply an administrative position.

We're looking for someone who can become the day-to-day leader of the centre—someone who understands education, builds strong relationships with families, leads and supports teachers, manages student programming, and keeps the centre running smoothly.

If you're an experienced educator, learning-centre manager, education professional, or school leader looking for an opportunity to combine education, leadership, and business operations, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As Education Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation and educational quality of Oxford Learning West Vancouver.

Your responsibilities will include:

Student Programming & Academic Leadership
  • Oversee individualized student programs and academic progress
  • Conduct and review student assessments
  • Identify students' academic strengths, skill gaps, and learning needs
  • Ensure programs are being delivered effectively and consistently
  • Monitor student progress and adjust programming when needed
  • Support teachers with instructional challenges and student needs
  • Maintain a strong understanding of elementary and secondary reading, writing, and mathematics
Parent Relationships

Building strong relationships with families is a major part of this position.

You will:

  • Meet with prospective and current families
  • Explain assessment results and program recommendations
  • Conduct student progress meetings
  • Communicate student successes and areas for continued development
  • Respond thoughtfully to parent questions and concerns
  • Build trust and long-term relationships with families
  • Help families understand the value and purpose of their child's program

We're looking for someone who is warm, articulate, confident, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people.

Team Leadership

You'll help build and lead a strong teaching team by:

  • Recruiting and interviewing teachers
  • Training and onboarding new team members
  • Coaching teachers and providing constructive feedback
  • Monitoring instructional quality
  • Managing teacher schedules and classroom coverage
  • Creating a positive and accountable team culture
  • Supporting teachers when challenging student situations arise
Centre Operations

You'll take ownership of the daily operation of the centre, including:

  • Student and teacher scheduling
  • Maintaining accurate student records
  • Managing program changes and attendance
  • Coordinating assessments and parent meetings
  • Resolving day-to-day scheduling and staffing challenges
  • Ensuring the centre is organized, welcoming, and prepared each day
  • Working closely with the Centre Director/Owner on priorities and centre performance
Enrolment & Retention

The Education Director also plays an important role in the growth of the centre.

Responsibilities include:

  • Speaking with prospective families
  • Understanding students' needs and recommending appropriate programs
  • Following up with inquiries and assessment families
  • Supporting new student enrolment
  • Maintaining strong relationships that contribute to student retention
  • Identifying opportunities to better serve existing families

This is a consultative, relationship-focused approach. We want families to feel informed and confident that they're making the right decision for their child.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience in education, tutoring, learning support, academic programming, or a related field
  • Previous leadership, management, or significant coordination experience
  • Strong understanding of how students learn and why they may struggle academically
  • Confidence with elementary and middle-school mathematics
  • Strong knowledge of reading comprehension, grammar, paragraph writing, and essay writing
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine relationships with families
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching others
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
